Regenerated cellulose fabric reinforced bio-based polypropylene sandwich composites: fabrication, mechanical performance and analytical modelling

Sandwich composites were fabricated successfully with the balsa wood as core material and regenerated cellulose fabric bio-based polypropylene (PP) composite skins. The PP produced using two different methods: conventional stacking lay-up directly pellets. made hot press equipment customized mold. sandwich system bio-composite laminate designed to achieve very close weight compare key mechanical properties that each design can bear. It was evidenced from experimental results 416% increase in bending load bearing property of part be obtained when structure used. These agreement one analytical modelling utilised. drop impact test demonstrated specimen is capable withstanding more than 6 kN absorbing energy 28.37 J.
